There is temptation to take what is not mine to take. To abandon not only common sense, and not only wisdom, but righteousness, in the act of reaching out and taking hold of that sweet fruit of poison held before me. It is a temptation I have considered giving in to, I will not lie. But alas, conviction conquers compromise in a way that will simply not allow me to walk such a path of misdirect and folly.
Even if I truly wanted to bite into the flesh of the fruit of temptation, converting a mere notion of negativity into an action of deathly consequence, I could not for there is a power at work within me unto which I am more entirely submitted than my own worldly desires. This is not the result of a forced service, but rather, the resounding impact of a fully devoted free will, though this free will only able to become fully devoted in the recognition of an even Fuller Devotion, unrivalled by any other love and commitment.
What Love can truly say, “I gave it all for you”? What Love can literally die and yet never leave or forsake His lover as Love comes back to life, simply for the sake of loving once more? What is this Love Eternal? Who is this Love?
This is the Love that leaves me no reason to take hold of temptation. This Love tells me there is a love worth waiting for. A love that is simply sweet with no entertainment of bitter whatsoever. Because of Love, I will wait. Because of Love, I must wait.
It’s okay to not always know the What, as long as you know the Who.
Live the heck out of Life.
